Vitamin K2 Supplement can Prevent Mitochondrial Defects

In a startling study done by Bhalerao and Clandinin, they found that a genetic defect led to an inability to convert vitamin K1 into vitamin K2, and this is a major reason behind mitochondrial deficiencies and defects implicated in health problems such as Parkinson’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Vitamin K2 is obviously very important but because of its high cost it is not widely available as a supplement, there are a few exceptions on the market however.
